Behavior Based Safety Course:
Compliance with the various regulations is only the beginning of creating a safe workplace. Changing employee behaviors is paramount to creating a workplace safety culture. In this course, you will learn how to apply the principles of Behavior Based Safety and how to win the support of employees and management. Topics include worker adapted safety programs, observation, focus behaviors, attitudes, perceptions, self-directed behavior, critical behaviors, antecedents, feedback, coaching, barriers, targeted behaviors, incentives and rewards, working committees, and measuring success. The required amount of time to complete the course is dependent upon your knowledge of workplace safety, but we find that the average completion time is approximately 8 hours. You have up to six months to complete the course.
The student will take a comprehensive online exam at the end of the course. You must score 80% to receive certification. You have three opportunities to pass the exam.
A refresher course and exam will be required every three (3) years. The cost of this recertification is $95.
