Bloodborne Pathogens Course:

Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and hepatitis merit serious concern for workers occupationally exposed to blood, and other potentially infectious materials that contain such bloodborne pathogens as HIV and HBV. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to identify potentially infectious materials, identify types and methods of exposures, understand the health hazards of bloodborne pathogens, and understand his/her requirements under an Exposure Control Plan. The required amount of time to complete the course is dependent upon your knowledge of workplace safety, but we find that the average completion time is approximately 8 hours. You have up to six months to complete the course.

Online Exams:

The student will take a comprehensive online exam at the end of the course. You must score 80% to receive certification. You have three opportunities to pass the exam.

Recertification:

A refresher course and exam will be required every three (3) years. The cost of this recertification is $95.

Optional Credits:

Through the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, 0.8 CEUs are offered for this course.
